LOCH HEAD HOUSE

  • Loch-Head-house-Johnsons-Harbour
Loch Head house was originally built at Carysfort Bay, a home for a boundary rider before fences could be erected when a man had to ride farm boundaries to keep the sheep on their farm. It was taken to Loch Head by sleigh then across the pond on a 20ft dinghy to its present site, probably in 1887. It has a steep staircase believed to have been taken from or made from shipwreck timbers. William John Hutchinson was born at Loch Head in 1889.
